Under the guidance and supervision of the Chief of Field Operations and Emergencies, responsible for the monitoring and evaluation, and information management of emergency programs in Cameroon. Supports the planning, implementation and coordination of the emergency response.

How can you make a difference?

1.  Information Management

  • Develop and manage humanitarian database systems, in conjunction with the program sections
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative approaches for humanitarian performance monitoring
  • Collect and consolidate humanitarian data in order to produce infographics and maps of UNICEF’s humanitarian response

2. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • In conjunction with program sections, develop rapid needs assessment tools,
  • Support needs assessments at the field level, and follow-up on related action points
  • Support the monitoring of program results at field level, through either 3rd party monitoring or the launch of new platforms, such as RapidPro.
  • Develop a comprehensive humanitarian result framework based on UNICEF HAC objectives and priority performance indicators
  • Work with program sections on workflow for humanitarian performance monitoring
  • Support the harmonization of IM and HPM tools and build capacity of IM/HPM staff at the field level.
  • Collect and analyse data on key humanitarian performance indicators, supporting the provision of quality programs
  • Support the development of humanitarian donor/program reports and sitreps
  • Setup up a central and accessible repository of relevant humanitarian documents, and consolidated programme datasets.

3. Performs other duties as required by the coordinator

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced university degree in International relations, international development or other relevant subject, or university degree with relevant equivalent background in humanitarian programming/coordination.

    *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning or coordinating humanitarian/emergencies with NGOs and/or the UN. Experience with program performance monitoring in humanitarian contexts.

    Analytical ability, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills.

    Capacity to work in stressful environments.

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written). Good spoken and written skills in French required.
